Acimga is the association of Italian manufacturers of machinery for the graphic, paper and converting industry. Established in 1947, it plays a key role within the industry, both in Italy and internationally representing the production “Made by Italy” – that is, not just machinery produced in Italy, but the wealth of competence and expertise unique to our country, which is the trademark of these technologies, regardless of where they are manufactured.

The association carries out lobbying activities, oversees institutional and parliamentary activities in support of the supply chain, monitors legislative actions in the interests of the industry.

Italy is among the top exporters in the world with a 10% market share. Acimga’s members represent over 60% of the sector’s total industry turnover, and 70% of export turnover.

The association offers its members a wide range of services, including:

  • Marketing Intelligence with quarterly and yearly reports; monthly bullettins from Confindustria; studies on travels and pricings; market analysis for 152 countries with four-year import and export forecasts (based on IMF forecasts and UN Comtrade historical data scenario, Eurostat and the US Census Bureau) not only for printing, packaging and converting machines, but for all products downstream and upstream of the supply chain such as packaging material, flexible packaging, paper, cardboard, bags/shoppers, labels, editorial products, tissue, tissue finished products.
  • Technical Committee with a permanent observatory on technical regulations UNI, CEN and ISO, organising meetings on dedicated topics, producing an annual publication with a list of harmonised safety standards and a list of those being drafted
  • Specialization groups for members: rotogravure, corrugated cardboard, flexography, converting, tissue, non-woven.
  • Dedicated training in collaboration with the best national and international figures, based on specific requests and needs reported by the associates, with target projects on Industry 4.0, sustainability, packaging, as well as training initiatives on issues pertaining to specialization groups.
  • Online and offline communication with a monthly newsletter and new dedicated communications aimed at specific targets inside the companies (C-Level, marketing managers and technical-regulatory managers), a database of over 100 thousand contacts (a third of which international), and an integrated communication incorporating member companies’ corporate identity to ensure a constant, recognisable presence on global digital and paper media. Acimga is also co-owner of Converting Magazine, the go-to industry publication with 5000 copies circulating in Italy and internationally, providing a window into the package printing production chain.
  • Marketing Committee deliberating on Internationalization and on the different exhibitions held globally each year. Acimga is partner of ITA – Italian Trade Agency (formerly ICE), the Governmental agency that supports the business development of Italian companies abroad and promotes the attraction of foreign investment in Italy. In collaboration with Argi, Acimga organises Print4All, an important trade fair exhibition, looking at the entire processing-packaging-printing technology chain. In the years between the trade fair, Acimga and Argi organise Print4All Conference, key milestone in the raodmap to Print4All, and an event for the entire supply chain, for all printing technologies and applications, dedicated to all companies involved in the design and use of innovation in the printing world. Acimga also develops international Roadshows with the aim of connecting the community of Italian associations and enterprises with those of hosting countries.
  • The next Print4All will take place on May 25-28, 2027 in Fiera Milano.
